Two Lokeren survivors, Stan Stevens and Colin Pratt, recall speedway's worst ever tragedy when five of their colleagues in the West Ham party died in the minibus crash that shook the sport in 1970.

We also talk to Tony Bishop, son of West Ham pioneer rider and former team manager Phil Bishop, whose father also lost his life in Belgium.

A look back at the final meeting in May 1972, including interviews with Arthur Atkinson, plus West Ham 'Bombers' Brian Foote and Kevin Holden.

Clips of full colour amateur cine footage of racing at Custom House in the 50s and 60s and the Hammers racing at Hackney.

Many previously unpublished still images of most riders who have worn the famous crossed hammers racejacket - from Tiger Stevenson, Bluey Wilkinson and Arthur Atkinson to Malcolm Craven, Tommy Croombs, Eric Chitty, Aub Lawson, Jack Young, Cliff Watson, Bjorn Knutson and Christer Lofqvist, etc.

Supporters recall their own heroes and special memories.

I love the West Ham DVD, it brought back so many happy memories and a few sad ones too. Great to see the stadium and track again, and loved the footage of the racing. Won't ever find a better track. Liked the Olle Nygren programme board photo! Wonder who that belongs too? Well done on a great job.

I have to say that, for me as a former Hammers supporter, this DVD is a great trip down memory lane. It's very well produced. I didn't time it but there seemed to be about three hours' worth. The contributors really took me back - not only to my times at Custom House in the 60s, but made me feel close to the 30s and 50s, too. I have always wished that I had seen Aub Lawson ride, just missing his days at Norwich. I can now see him on this DVD (actually two DVDs). I suspect that this DVD will appeal to a wider audience than Hammers folk, I hope so, because it deserves to. I have the recent Rayleigh DVD also (I supported them in the Len Silver years). I couldn't put a price on memories they have brought back. I recommend them to all readers.
